Top newsletters about eCommerce (1)

28/09/2021
  • If you are interested in eCommerce and everything related to selling online, you cannot miss these Top newsletters that we share with you today.

  • We have talked a lot about email newsletters on this blog, especially how to design them to make them more of a marketing asset.

But lately, the newsletter format has resurfaced to become a hybrid between what is shared on a blog and what is shared on social networks, especially in the popular Twitter threads. It has become usual to "read the newsletters of the week" on Saturday or Sunday to catch up on what is happening in the industry, instead of the classic newspaper or specialized blog.

That is why today we are going to tell you which newsletters you should be subscribed to in order to keep up to date with the latest in e-commerce strategy, resources and tactics. Join us!
  • What should an eCommerce newsletter have to be a top one?

    • Very high quality content: at the end of the day, content is the essence of everything, that which leads us to subscribe. If the curation or writing work is not extraordinary, everything else does not matter.
    • Specialization: the eCommerce category is very wide. There are many aspects and disciplines that have the potential to interest us, from SEO to copywriting or from SEM to logistics. In this list you will find a bit of everything, but the heart of the matter is that the newsletter itself is very specialized.
    • Frequency and level of updating: this is the third key aspect, because this is a fast-moving world. A newsletter that provides value, by definition, has to arrive in your inbox always with the same regularity to avoid becoming obsolete, and also to generate a reading habit in the community that follows it.
  • Top 10 newsletters about eCommerce

  • We are not going to extend any further with the introduction and we will go directly to the list. Just one more nuance: what you are about to see is not a ranking per se. All these newsletters are great and provide an important value.
  • #1 - eCommPills

  • As its name suggests, eCommPills is a series of knowledge pills about eCommerce, and especially about the "no-code" world, namely: various tools to set up your online store and your marketing resources without knowing or needing a bit of programming - such as Oleoshop.

It stands out especially for its exhaustive and careful work in the search and finding of rare and successful eCommerce niches. So, if your idea is to set up a hyper-specialized online store but you cannot find the right niche, do not miss this newsletter that can give you ideas worth their weight in gold.

The person behind this impressive resource is Jaime Mesa, one of those people who knows what he is talking about when it comes to e-commerce, as he has been an entrepreneur and hard-working person in the sector for many years. This Sunday newsletter has become almost mandatory to keep up to date.
  • #2 - All4Marketplaces

  • If you sell or plan to sell on Amazon and other marketplaces, the All4Marketplaces newsletter is awesome.

It is a newsletter about the latest in the world of marketplaces and especially about Amazon, but with a fresh and uncomplicated style, straight to the point, which makes reading it fast, fun and, in short, a real pleasure.

Who is in charge for it? Jordi Ordóñez, of course. One of the pioneers in the world of eCommerce who has been able to adapt to where the wind is blowing without losing an ounce of expertise, know-how and sense of humor along the way.

Undoubtedly, he is one of the best you can find on something as specific as selling on marketplaces, a strategy that we have already told you other times that can be very interesting as a complementary strategy. And, besides browse on the Internet searching for interesting items for sellers and vendors, we can always find discounts and opportunities in some tools.
  • #3 – Suma Positiva

  • We do know: Suma Positiva is not exactly a newsletter about eCommerce, but its content is so important that you cannot miss it.

Suma Positiva deals in depth with the most current business topics. Its author, Samuel Gil, is an investor in JME Ventures, so he is able to offer a privileged bird's eye view of everything that is and will be cooking in the business world, online or not. All in a format between reflective and informative, as if he were giving a class on a subject to himself and at the same time sharing it with all of us.

It is a difficult, long, very interesting newsletter that will take you a long time to read but you will be grateful to have read it. It is almost like a long post in a very expert blog. Sometimes, when Samuel does not master the topic to be covered, the content is written by an expert guest who always maintains the highest quality.
  • #4 – Not Boring

  • Not Boring is one of the international references for newsletters about e-commerce, but especially about business and trends.

Subscribers to Packy McCormick's newsletter get two weekly updates. In them, everything that happens in the business world is discussed in a relaxed but deep ("not boring") way, with success stories, investment, strategy…

And their exhaustive analysis and trend forecasting is very noteworthy and striking. In fact, they were the first to analyze the growing trend of real time fashion, of which the Spanish company laagam is one of its few examples in Europe.

Not Boring is especially interesting for startups, opportunity seekers, ambitious people who want to be up to date, and entrepreneurs who want to catch the wave before anyone else.
  • #5 – MagnifiCRO

  • Because it deals about yet another area of marketing that involves eCommerce (and because its content is very good) we have to include the MagnifiCRO newsletter.

As you can imagine, everything you will read here has to do with the exciting world of CRO and conversion optimization in online sales. Just with the file that you can consult on their website you have information to give a further thought, strategies, ideas, case studies ... Do not miss it.
  • Did you know all these Top eCommerce newsletters? How many of them are you subscribed to? Are you missing any of your favorites in this list? Do not worry: the must-read list will grow on the next post, add your favorite!
